Only in Michigan can you wear shorts on Monday and have to shovel snow on Tuesday!  We certainly had a teaser last week with temperatures in the 60s-70s, and just as we were ready to get the Mustangs out, the temperature falls back with a threat of snow! The good news is that Dana (our Social Director) said it is going to be 63 degrees and sunny for our celebration of National Mustang Day on April 18th!

There are a lot of fun things that are coming for the club - some of which we heard at the March meeting:

  • We have a brand new MOCSEM logo that you voted on!  We will preserve the heritage of the original MOCSEM logo that has been the symbol of the club for the first 50 years!

  • National Mustang Day Celebration is April 18th (special guest Steve Saleen) and much more!

  • Our MOCSEM family picnic will be held on July 26 th at the Wilson Barn (we need some Grille Masters from the club to help us grille)!

  • Mustang Memories will be August 9th at the AAA building in Dearborn!

  • The MOCSEM Scholarship Chili Cook-off will be held on October 3rd at our honorable members Norma and Lonnie Brammers' house!

  • The MOCSEM Christmas party will be December 12th at Fox Hills in Plymouth!

We talked last month about needing some volunteers to help with our MOCSEM activities. Our first opportunity will be for National Mustang Day. We will need 5 volunteers to help park cars at both locations. Dana will be sending out a sign up sheet (electronically) so you can register to help.

We would also like to thank everyone that came out early to the meetings the last two months to socialize and share Mustang stories with members. What a great site to see everyone gathering together and enjoying each other’s company. Starting in April, we are going to highlight members' rides during the social hour before the monthly meetings. We will park cars at the entrance of the meeting and invite a car for each generation. We will send out a sign up sheet (electronically) so you can choose which month works best for you.

For our April meeting, Charlie Kennedy from the Detail Shop will speak to us on how to properly detail your Mustang to get it ready for cruising/car show season. If you have time, come early to the next meeting to meet a new member and share your Mustang story with them!  See you at the Michigan Firehouse Museum on March 21st and at our April Meeting!
