I would have to say that MOCSEM is in full swing! Just looking at our participation for our July events, it has been a full house every time! Jim Demmer asked me a couple weeks prior to the US-12/Demmer Cruise, "how many Mustangs do you think we should save spot for?" I told him about 25 Mustangs would be my guess. I had to call him at 7:30 the morning of the event and tell him that John Jennings already had 39 Mustangs lined up and raring to go! Jim said that there are even more already here at the dealership! What a site to see on Michigan Avenue when we led our caravan into the dealership! We even had a Police car at the back of our line with his flashers on to let oncoming traffic know that we were pulling in! A big thank you to Jim and Matt Demmer for hosting the club, providing BBQ and live music!

And the fun didn’t end there! The Mackinaw Mustang Stampede saw MOCSEM almost win the Club award for having the most members there (we missed it by one Mustang)! The Telegraph Cruise was back at Taylor
Ford (thanks to Jeff Garcia!) and Mustangs flowed in and out of our Mustang Corral all day! John Jennings
was there first thing in the morning to set-up the tent and banner with the help of club members and he was
there at 6 pm tearing things back down with the help of members!

The MOCSEM Picnic was held at Wilson Barn and was a full house also! Over 85 members were in attendance and the food that the members brought literally could have fed an army (we’ll have to work on that one next year)! Our Grill Masters were on top of their game and the burgers and dogs were outstanding! And you may have noticed one Grill Master in the crowd unable to participate due to hand injury (hoping recovery is quick). There were plenty of games to play (Cornhole, Cross Four, Bounce House, and even a Water Balloon Toss where the winner received a free membership for 2027!

General Meetings have been no different! It was 99 degrees outside at our last meeting, but that didn’t stop anyone from coming to socialize, share stories, and listen to Austin Atwood. August will be just as busy with the following activities:

• Mustang Memories and All Ford Show – August 9th

• Gingerman Raceway – August 10th -12th

• MOCSEM Pre-Cruise at Berkley A&W – August 13th

• MOCSEM Mustang Corral at Woodward – August 15th

• General Meeting – August 18th (One week later than normal - we will gather member feedback on how Mustang Memories went)

 

For the month of September, we are working on a couple of cruise events (i.e. Bakers, Caffeine & Chrome, etc) and also visiting some potential car collections for the club. Details will be coming shortly. Thank you for all you do for MOCSEM! The support from the members is absolutely outstanding.
