What a year we have had so far as a club, and it’s not over yet! We just finished another great event at Parmenter’s Cider Mill last week with over 75 club members in attendance and special parking just for MOCSEM! We still have our annual Chili-Cookoff Charity event coming up October 3rd, Flat Rock Assembly Plant (FRAP) Car Show on October 11th , MOCSEM Christmas Party on December 12th, and there may still be a couple more cool events before the end of the year!

Don’t forget we have Board nominations coming up at our October General meeting, so anyone wishing to run for a Board Position needs to get their Biography into one of the Nomination Committee Members (Lynn Kocan, Ethyl Brown, and Norma Brammer) before the meeting. Board Positions are on the MOCSEM website under the “About” tab, and the By-laws layout the responsibilities for each position. If you have any questions about any position, just reach out to any of one of us on the Board and have a chat.

If being a board member is not on your radar at this time, please think about helping out the club as a committee member. With the club being as large and active as it is, we really need some help to continue making this a great club for all of us. The Social Committee needs four (4) members to help organize monthly events throughout the year including specific MOCSEM events (National Mustang Day, Down River Cruise, Club Picnic, etc), Monthly Cruises, and cool places for the club to go (Museums, Car Collections, etc). Anyone interested in helping the club for 2027, please reach out to our Social Director, Dana Keethler at  dkeethler@gmail.com or myself at mustangcorral@wowway.com.

Just due to the shear size of the club, we can also use some help with the other areas such as Web Development, Finance, Merchandise, Membership and Club Relations. If you have a background in any of those areas or just want to help/learn, just reach out to the appropriate Board Member. They would appreciate the help and it keeps this club running smoothly.

For October, our guest speaker will be Nick Terzes, Ford Racing Heritage Business Manager who will speak to us on new and exciting things happening within Ford Motor Company! I got to know Nick during our work together on the Ford GT, and he is a fantastic supporter of MOCSEM. If you have a chance, ask Nick about the time he had to drive a Ford GT back to Multi-Matic in Canada the day before Thanksgiving - in the snow!

We are still working on a few things for November. In addition, we will dedicate one of our General Meetings for the Board of Directors to get your feedback on what you would like to see in 2027 and share their thoughts on 2026. So thank you for being a member of MOCSEM!
