Welcome to 2026!  I'm honored to serve you as the MOCSEM President for this year!  I am looking forward to a great year while building on the fantastic leadership that Mike Rey and the Board have provided over the last 20 years. 

 

First, I would like to thank all the members who came out for the January Special Meeting last week (or watched online). It was a packed house!  I hope you enjoyed the presentation from Matt Korcyk on the Ford Archive Collection.  What a great job that would be to manage that fleet of vehicles!  I would also like to thank each one of you for providing your thoughts and ideas during our “idea-gathering" activity as well as the Q&A Session afterwards.  This type of feedback will help us move forward to make sure MOCSEM is around for the next 50 years!

 

We will take your feedback and start categorizing it so we can report back to the members next month.  The feedback will help us understand what you want out of our MOCSEM club, and with your help, move forward into the future.   We also discussed some "Help Needed" for ongoing activities such as Merchandise, Membership, Social Activities, Website Administration and even monthly meeting set up/teardown.   The thought would be to have a few folks offer to help each activity on a quarterly basis (3 months) - just to lend a helping hand as needed.   As an example, the months where we set up merchandise for sale at the meetings, the extra help would be to set up/lay out/take down merchandise.   The same for monthly meeting set up – help with tables/chairs/sound system set up/tear down, etc.   Mustang Memories is a whole separate initiative, and our club members have always been outstanding volunteers for that great event!  We’ll put out a separate note asking for a few volunteers to help out with certain activities to make it easier for everyone to have a great time at our events.

 

Now on to some excitement:

 

• February will bring Capaldi Racing to the meeting to discuss vehicle dynamics on today's roads and on the track.  If you don’t already know Leo and Craig, they are two fantastic gents that have been racing all of their lives.  Of course, the competition between Leo (Dad) and Craig (Son) is fun to watch on the track as well.  And now a Grandson is entering into the picture as he moves from carts to cars.  We will have a special vehicle at the meeting (weather permitting) that you will want to see!

 

• March Meeting Sneak Peek:  How to properly detail your Mustang to get it ready for Spring cruising and car shows.  Charlie Kennedy from The Detail Shop will be our Guest Speaker to discuss the "Do’s and Don’ts" of detailing your ponies.

 

• April brings on National Mustang Day!  As the announcement that went out earlier said – This is going to be epic! 

 

• We are also working on places to go and see for the club on a monthly basis, so stay tuned as we move forward.

 

I want to thank you for allowing us (your Board) to be able to serve you in 2026.   If you have time to come early to the monthly meetings, please come and meet a new member (or someone who you have not met before) and share your Mustang story with them!  See you in February.
